SATURDAY 17TH SEPTEMBER

GIRLS U10

Capital Girls League Football Festival

Venceremos U10 girls team played their first tournament of the season. Pitches were a lot bigger than last season, so they struggled in the first two games, but only conceded one goal. In the third game Elise scored a fantastic goal, our only one of the tournament. We lost our 4th game 3-0 against strong opposition and drew our last 0-0. Imaan and Tia made some fantastic saves throughout, with Charlotte missing out on a goal, but made some fantastic shots. Krissie, Millie and Taylor played well in midfield pushing forward when on the attack and defending well with Tia in defence. A great first morning at Chase Lodge. Well done girls. SUNDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER

U14

MCFA Youth U14 Cup R1

PARKFIELD 29-1 VENCEREMOS

We came into the game with our two centre backs missing, but our heads were high. They were a much bigger physical team which had been together for many seasons. We were new kids on the block. They came at us like a freight train from the whistle and we stood our ground as best as we could and soldiered on.  (I'm sure there was 20 of them all over 18) All the subs were used as the team members were taking knocks throughout the game. Anyway we never let our heads drop and the team spirit was still overflowing even at 23 - 0. (Not many teams can say that). We got into their half a few times and Iain was awarded a penalty in the 57 minute and scored . It was a just deserved goal. We have learnt a lot from this game and our team were commended on the team spirit and effort by Parkfield and Referee to name a few. Performance Rating 6.5

U12

MCFA Youth U12 Cup R1

LONDON ATHLETIC 'A' 3-0 VENCEREMOS

The boys were involved in an entertaining clash well contested clash which they ultimately lost because their opponents were more clinical in both penalty areas. We played some good football in the first half without really testing their keeper but London Athletic were very quick on the break often by-passing midfield and this caused us problems with Glen making a number of crucial saves. Following the break, London Athletic took took the lead following a mazy run from their winger and then scored 2 more with good finishing. We continued pressing but nothing fell our way with the Athletic centre back outstanding all afternoon. A good came of football played in an excellent spirit which on another day we could have won. Special mention for Glen who produced a really assured performance between the posts.

MCFA Youth U11 Cup R1

PARKFIELD 'B' 1-4 VENCEREMOS

Another good performance by the Vs in the MCFA Youth U11 Cup Round 1 competition.  The Vs were without Troy and Abilash, but still managed to outshine the strongly fancied Parkfield side away from home. Venceremos withstood some early pressure from a Parkfield side who were passing fluidly and attacking from the start.  However, the Vs opened the scoring after some persistent chasing from Dylan on the right who passed to Remy to convert a fine debut goal.  With confidence in the ascendency, the Vs began to control the game and had several chances to go further ahead before half time.  Shortly after the break, Parkfield equalised with a fortunate goal when Jordan's clearance hit Parkfield's Thomas Barry for the ball to roll in to the net from an acute angle. Remy doubled his tally soon after to make it 2-1.  Minutes later, Niall drove the ball into the net with a well worked goal from the right to make it 3-1.  The Vs were in command with Niall controlling the midfield and providing an outlet for the team to create more chances.  Remy capped a fine performance with a finely slotted goal passed the outcoming Parkfield keeper to make it 4-1. Despite Remy scoring a fine hat-trick, the MOM was awarded to Niall for a fantastic performance in protecting the defence and also providing the offensive outlet.  Performance Rating 8.5
