SUNDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER U11 Harrow Youth League Division 4 WILLESDEN CONSTANTINE 2-6 VENCEREMOS
The Vs returned to league competition with an emphatic win against Willesden Constantine who had beaten us home and away last season. The Vs were in control for most of the match and were quick off the blocks to go one up within the first 5 minutes with a goal from Dylan after the goal keeper parried a shot from Troy. Troy caused the Willesden defence lots of problems with his pace and was rewarded for his efforts a few minutes later. By this time, the team were playing with confidence and playing a high line with Callen in goal having little to do in first half. Troy made it 3-0 on 20 minutes with a fantastic strike from just inside the box. He could have had a hat-trick when he rounded the defence and keeper to shoot just wide of an empty net. Just before half time, Dylan made it 4-0 with a powerful strike that went over the keeper's head. The second half saw a great individual goal from Oliver who struck from outside the penalty area to make it 5-0 before Willesden made a fight of it scoring two quick goals in succession to make it 5-2. Any fears of a Newcastle type comeback were put to rest when Callen scored after some great passing movement from the team. All the boys had their best performance for the team with with the debutants settling in quickly. Performance Rating is 7.5 |
